Getting Older
I was invited to come and sub for a flag football team that several of the guys from Student Life play on. As I was warming up and running around the field, I began to realize my legs were struggling to keep up with the speed my mind was pushing them to run, my arm was a little lazy on nearly every throw, and I seemed to be out of breath just a little sooner than I'm used to. I've always heard that age has a way of sneaking up on you, but I'm only 27. I mean, come on!! I'm supposed to be in my prime, but I'm acting like an old man. After today, I'm dead set on getting back into shape for real. This is pitiful and ridiculous...

Yeah, I totally agree with you. After this Sunday and that lady coming up to me after church, putting her hand on my tummy and asked "Are we expecting?"... and then seeing my self in the mirror this morning looking like a big ol butterball.. yeah, I need to do something. Even though you and your mom both said "Jessica, you're not fat", I beg to differ... or maybe I can just blame it on the shirt OR maybe it's Gods way of letting us know to be prepared for our future blessing (to which I'm hoping is sooner than later). But yea, gota eat better and work out!!!ASAP NO MORE BUTTERBALL!!!

While yes, Jason, age tends to sneak up on us and No, Jessica, you are NOT fat, I've realized that we all compare ourselves now to that time in our past when we thought we looked our best. Thus even my mom (at 110 pounds) is able to say she's overweight because, at a time long ago, she use to weigh 90lbs.
Not that I would discourage anyone from getting into shape. Not only do we look better, but we FEEL better, not only physically, but mentally and emotionally. And with better physical, mental and emotional happiness, we project that extra joy onto our partner and make them happier at the same time.
Words of wisdom from someone who's struggling to stay in the gym as well, lol.
